Sebastian Matthias examines the connection between city spaces, the body, movements, and rhythm. Stemming from a series of research and a presentation of a collaborative project, volution / groove space finds its inspiration in the interactions that occur in small scopes and which evolves into a kind of network.
This performance is supported by a number of artists such as Irwan Ahmett, Tita Salina, Cut and Rescue, and Didiet Maulana. volution / groove space is an exclusive production for German Season in Indonesia, premiering in Jakarta.
Sebastian Matthias studied dance at the Juilliard School, New York, and dance research at the Free University, Berlin. Most of Sebastian Matthias’s works are independent productions, but he also create works as guest choreographers with a number of institutions in Germany and Sweden.
