As Modernism passed, fragmentation not only became a distinctive characteristic of philosophy, but a way of philosophizing in itself. Fragmentation means two things. First, it means that great modern ideas regarding reason, progress, and freedom have found their limits or boundary; they shatter at this boundary point. Secondly, it means that philosophy has discarded its telos-centric ambitions, rebuilding from the wreckage of modernism.

Postfoundationalism is the direct heir of this interrogative spirit, something born out of the scattered remnants of great modern ideas. In this edition of Salihara's philosophy class, mentors will lead participants through the ideas of three important postfoundationalists: Ernesto Laclau, Chantal Mouffe, and Jacques Rancière.
