Received his formal education in Visual Communication Design at The Indonesia Art Institute in Yogyakarta. He was also 1999 NGO-KOKO Japan International Scholarship recipient, and was part of the Comic Cambodia- Indonesia exchange (2005). Beng has been actively involved in various group exhibitions since 1998 in Yogyakarta, for example: Jamur Merang poster exhibition, Bentara Budaya, 1998; Sekoin comic exhibition, Vredeburg Fort, 2004; andPekan Komik dan Animasi Nasional IV / Fourth National Comic and Animation Week, 2004. In addition, he was also involved in the International Cartoon Festival, Bali, 2007; Manifesto Seni Rupa art exhibition, Jakarta National Gallery, 2008, and still many others. He gained the opportunity to present his first solo exhibition, Beng.s Porto (2005) at the Sun Dew Gallery, Pnom Penh, Cambodia. In addition to creating comics, Beng and his friends have also created installation pieces, exhibited at the 2005 CP Biennale, FKY Yogyakarta Arts Festival 2007, and at the 2007 Yogyakarta Biennale. Beng has created 13 short comics and has published two comic books: Selamat Pagi Urbaz (2002), and Lotif versi Pasbook: Mei 2005 - Mei 2009 (2009). Currently he is working as program manager for Samali Academy, and is a Comic Strip contributor for Koran Tempo Minggu, as well as comic editor for Komik Cendana Art Media, while continuing his education at Jakarta Art Institute.s Urban Art and Cultural Production program.
