Ferdiansyah Thajib was born in Bandung, Indonesia (1978) and lives in Yogyakarta. He finished his study at the Graduate Program of Religious and Cultural Studies, Sanata Dharma University Yogyakarta in 2006. Since then, he has been actively working as a researcher in the field of cultural studies, on individual as well as collaborative basis. He co-founded Qmunity Jogja, a non-profit organisation focusing to raise community awareness on sexual diversity through arts, media, and culture from 2005-2009. Since 2007 he was Research Coordinator at KUNCI Cultural Studies Center, an organisation aiming at advancing a wider critical movement through popular education practices and experimental approaches to cultural issues. Currently he is acting as Executive Director of KUNCI Cultural Studies Center. His paper and essay have been published in both English and Indonesian in several academic journals and website. He wrote a collaborative report on video activism in Indonesia with KUNCI Cultural Studies Center and EngageMedia, Australia, entitled Videochronic (2008). (Source: http://wasteland-twinning.net).
