indieguerillas is an artist duo from Yogyakarta, consisting of Santi Ariestyowanti and Dyatmiko “Miko” Lancur Bawono. Both of them graduated from the Art Faculty, Indonesian Art Institute in Yogyakarta. In addition to their interest in folktales, this duo is also known for their experimentation with visual effects and inter-media works. indieguerillas has been involved in many exhibitions, such as Urban/Culture, CP Biennale, Jakarta (2005); Biennale Jogja X, Jogja Jamming, Yogyakarta (2009); Art Domain Migration, ASEAN & China, 10+1 Art Tactic Independent Art Project, The 4th Guangzhou Triennial, The 3rd FI, Guangdong Museum of Art, China (2011); and in the Collateral Event of the 54th International Art Exhibition-La Biennale di Venezia, Future Pass-From Asia to the World, Venice, Italy (2011). They have also presented several solo exhibitions: Fools’lore: Folklore Reload, Biasa Artspace, Bali (2008); Happy Victims, VWFA Singapore (2010); Indie What? Indie Who?, Garis Art Space, Jakarta (2010); and contributed contents for the book Latex for Fun, Stop the dictatorship of vinyl: designer toys for the people, published by Die Gestalten Verlag, Berlin, Germany. Last year, indieguerillas took part in a residency program in Den Haag, the Netherlands, with Heden and Kosmopolis Den Haag. It resulted in a visual journal of Indonesian culinary/gastronomical account, titled Gastronaut: Looking Food.
