Kharisma Jati is a freelance comic artist and cover art designer for Gradien Mediatama, Yogyakarta. Previously, he has worked with various outlets, enriching his experience as a comic artists. For example, in 2003-2004, he served as artistic director, storyboard artist, and lead animator for Jatayu MSV Amikom Yogyakarta animation project. Following that, he worked for Alfamedia publisher, Yogyakarta, as graphic designer and coloring artist. Last year, Jati, as he is usually known, have also worked part-time at Funcel Animation Studio, Malaysia, as storyboard artist. A number of his comic works have been published since 2005, for example: Die Juden Die (2005) and Dead Terrorism (2006), published by the Department of Religious Affairs; the part-installation comic work, Comicus Interruptus (2007), exhibited at Neo Nation, 9th Jogja Biennale; as well as comic illustration for Anak Kos Dodol (Stupid Tenant, 2009), published by Gradien Mediatama, Yogyakarta. He has received either first or second place in various competitions, such as: Second Place at National Stabilo Art Competition (2004), Second Place at National Anti-NAPZA Poster Competition (2004), First Place at National Religious Comic Competition by Department of Religious Affairs (2004), and Second Place in the same competition a year later.
