The House of Natural Fiber (HONF).Yogyakarta New Media Art Laboratory HONF is a media lab established in 1999 by an inter-disciplinary community of creators. Most of HONF.s activities are related to the need for inter-disciplinary collaboration to respond to technological advancement and day-to-day, practical technological application. Four keywords that describe HONF are: art, technology, science, and society. HONF has six routine programs: cellsKID, cellKIT.destruct and reconstruct, Intelligence Bacteria, Media Division, VJSchool, and Breakcore_LABS. These are all programs that involve various interdisciplinary communities with an emphasis on sharing and innovation, as well as a development in working processes. HONF has participated in various exhibitions, such as Freemind, a multimedia performance and installation exhibition at Via Via Cafe, Yogyakarta (2000), Home Made Taste, multimedia performance and presentation for the N-Mark project, as part of the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) in Nagoya, Japan (2002); Morning Glory, a multimedia collaboration project in Paris, France (2004); and the International Videowork Festival #02, Self Narrative: Video Fresnoy, Yogyakarta (2006). Most recently, in 2011, HONF presented their works in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
